Silicone O-rings can be used to adjust the sound and feel of your typing experience.  These O-rings will reduce the bottom our travel distance by 2mm and prevent your switch from bottoming out.  Instead the keycap will be bottoming out on the O-ring which will be sandwiched between the inner keycap and the top housing of the switch.

This results in a softer cushioned bottoming out experience and and suppressing the overall sound of the switch greatly for linear and tactile switches.

These are installed by fitting the ring around the inner stem of the keycap.  Then gently assemble the keycap on the switch and gently tap the keycap a few times until the o-ring is snug.
