Introducing Ducky's Project D - Tinker 65, a typing juggernaut that doesn't break the bank. This keyboard is meticulously designed to provide an exceptional typing experience, featuring a gasket-mounted structure design, a durable FR4 plate, a hot-swappable PCB, and more. Available in two versions - Barebone and Prebuilt.

Gasket Mounted Structure Design

The Tinker 65 employs a gasket-mounted structure, offering a balance of rigidity and flexibility for a sublime typing feel.

Solid F4R Plate

The FR4 plate adds solidity and firmness, increasing overall longevity while also generating sensational acoustics. The FR4 material brings a different and durable dynamic to the user's typing experience.

Ducky's Iconic Colors

The combination of black and white stays true to Ducky's clasic color scheme, reinforcing the imprint of Ducky's brand image.

South-Facing RGB

A unique RGB feature where the LEDs are located at the bottom of the switch rather than the top, which make them appear brighter because they are facing the typer.

5-PIN Hot-Swappable PCB

Easily mount your favorite switches into place without going through the trouble of desoldering switches. The most efficient way to enjoy a wide range of mechanical switches.

QMK/VIA Support

With full QMK and VIA support, you can program and remap each key on the keyboard with ease. The open-source firmware means endless possibilities for keyboard layouts, shortcuts, backlight effects, and more.

Geniune Cherry MX Switches  (Pre-Built Version Only)

Choose from a range of switches for different typing experiences (Linear, tactile, clicky).

Overall, I like the ProjectD Tinker65. In the custom keyboard world, it’s not really bringing anything new but it is bringing known features to more accessible price points with the backing of a big brand. It also includes great keycaps and a pre-assembly process that makes modding a non-issue. Add switches or keycaps, or buy the pre-assembled version, and you’re good to go out of the box. It’s a solid foundation to build on and an invitation to tinker with different switches and explore the hobby.

I'm able to appreciate the board for what it is. It's the nicest compact board I've personally used in terms of the tactile typing feedback. The rock-solid construction and sheer weight of it see to that. Admittedly the switches I had spare aren't the most ideal for gaming considering their 90g weight and tactile feedback, but it's still a mechanical keyboard and still plenty responsive for it.

A smaller board I bought to use with the media PC in my living room, this board is well built with a solid plastic frame with a little flex, and nice well-rounded edges. Everything else about this board feels – for a lack of a better word – cozy. The board doesn’t feel ‘fancy’ premium, but more like a well-built, but mid-range family car. When I look at it, and use it – I don’t get the urge to shift it around my desk like my monsgeek, or to lift it up to admire the key caps like my Keychron. Instead, I just type – and enjoy the experience.

The typing experience is honestly a dream... the stabilizers are very, very good, you don't have any rattle noise, it's just smooth and very satisfying every time you press a keystroke.
